Billing

Annual Meters:

Many members have annual meters connected to stock water pumps. We send out meter reading cards in late November. The meter should be read as close to December 1st as possible, noted on the card and returned to us.

I cannot stress the fact enough that we need these annual readings ASAP so we can begin calculating annual bills. We are not able to run the calculation program until we receive every single reading. If we don’t receive your reading by December 10th, we will read your meter and bill you for this service.

Self Read:

Most of our rural members read their own meter on the first of the month noting the reading in the Self Billing Coupon Book. Always read the last dial as a zero "0" so the rate chart which is broken down into 10 KWH increments can be easily used.

Bills are due and payable on the 1st of the month.  If your payment does not reach our office by the 15th of the month, you will forfeit your discount and 10% will be added to your bill. Bills not paid by the end of the month are subject to disconnect.

The last coupon in your Self Billing Coupon Book is stamped "Use this coupon last" so when it is received in the office, we immediately send you a new book, rate chart and envelopes.

SECO Read:

Most Town of Ekalaka meters are read by office staff on the 25th of each month. You will then receive a bill in the mail. Bills are due and payable on the 1st of the month. If your payment does not reach our office by the 15th of the month, you will forfeit your discount and 10% will be added to your bill. Bills not paid by the end of the month are subject to disconnect.

Call us if you have questions pertaining to your meter/s.
