2019 ANNUAL MEETING
BIG CHANGE TO ANNUAL MEETING RESULTS IN A BIG SUCCESS!
Southeast Electric’s Board of Directors agreed to a big change to their annual meeting. After 63 years of having the annual meeting at the high school gym, it was decided to have a backyard picnic and host the meeting in our new large truck shop. Roast Beef, Cheesy Potatoes, Baked Beans and dessert have been the menu for several years. This year we made it casual and had the linemen barbeque burgers and brats. Lineman and the local FCCLA students served Baked Beans, Potato Salad, Macaroni Salad, Coleslaw and chips. Members also enjoyed ice cream sundaes for dessert. The meeting lasted approximately 30 minutes. Jeremy Mahowald from Upper Missouri Power Cooperative and Ryan Hall from Montana Electric Cooperative Association shared reports from their organizations. Jack Hamblin, General Manager, and Albert Paul, Board President, reported on the progress that Southeast is making and on the stable financial condition the cooperative is in. We have over 800 meters that we are currently reading and hope to be finished with that project by the end of the year. One of our members asked to address the crowd and stated that he was very thankful for the personal and uncomplicated service that he gets from Southeast Electric. Of course, the members always enjoy the door prizes that are awarded. We were pleased when one of our previous board members, Francis Hayes, won two tickets to the Medora Musical. Francis had served as a director for 40 years. The $500.00 cash prizes went to Bradley McCabe and Dane & Pam Castleberry. During the meeting and after the meeting we received almost an inch of rain but were able to keep the members dry in the new shop. Consensus was that this forum worked very well, and we may try it again next year.
