Each year, Southeast Electric joins other electric cooperatives across the U.S. to send appx. 1,500 students to Washington D.C. for a week with all expenses paid.
Educating today's generation on becoming active and engaged in the political process has become the focus of the electric cooperatives Youth Tour.
Southeast Electric Cooperative will sponsor one student whose parents are members of Southeast Electric Cooperative to attend an all-expense-paid, week long trip to Washington DC as part of the NRECA 2008 Rural Electric Youth to Washington DC Tour scheduled June 14 - 20, 2008.
To apply, the student must write an original essay and submit it to Southeast Electric for judging by the coop’s Scholarship Committee. The Youth Tour Contest Rules are as follows:
