Cody Cole, a junior at Carter County High School was initially selected to represent our area at the 2008 Youth to Washington Tour. Then, Cody was chosen as the MONTANA DELEGATE!! This means that Montana Electric Cooperatives' Assn. (MECA) will cover all of his costs and we were able to select another representative. Cody is the son of Arlin and Cynde Cole from Alzada.

Cody is involved in FFA, 4-H, FCCLS, basketball, National Honor Society and works for their family ranch in his spare time.
Angela Brence, daughter of Paul & Nancy Brence, and junior at CCHS was selected. Angela is involved in FFA, band, National Honor Society, Science Club and was a leader at Positive Choices in 2007.
Cody and Angela submitted essays on the pros or cons of Wind Energy to win this contest.
This all expense paid week long trip to Washington D. C. is scheduled for June 14 – June 20, 2008. Cody and Angela will be joining 1,500 other students to experience historic monuments and museums. They meet U. S. Representatives and Senators and are inspired by speeches from individuals who have overcome incredible set backs to achieve their dreams. Southeast Electric Cooperative became involved in this program in 2003 together with most of 24 other Montana electric cooperatives who belong to MECA. Southeast Electric has previously sponsored this trip for Melody Malenovsky (2003) Tandy Schneider (2004) Kayla Fix (2005) Stephanie Steffes (2006) and Leah Brence (2007)
